- The father of American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino is suing Simon & Schuster for $10 million, claiming the singer’s 2005 memoir contained “intentional and malicious untruths” about him. In the book, the singer noted that her dad often set unrealistically high jury-award goals. [E!]
- Songwriter Paul Vance–whose “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” inspired countless bad Us Weekly captions–died earlier this month at the age of 68. [AP] UPDATE: He did not, in fact, die.

In the liner notes of his new album, "Emotional Traffic," you never get a good look at Tim McGraw's eyes. There are five photos, but no clues. In one shot, those eyes are draped in shadow; in another, they are guarded by the brim of a black cowboy hat.
Sexsmith ready to rock Windsor
Ron Sexsmith is a nerd about music. He makes no bones about it. "I like to sit and read the liner notes and the lyrics when I listen to music," said the 48-year-old singersongwriter. "I've never downloaded music in my life. I wouldn't know how. I buy albums."

    If Dwayne Wayne ended up playing me in a tv movie, I’d want to sue too.
