Okay, so maybe you didn’t wake up this morning hoping for some early-’70s West African rock, but hopefully these two tracks–from Luaka Bop’s 2004 collection Love’s A Real Thing: The Funky Fuzzy Sounds of West Africa–will prick up your ears a bit. We won’t embarrass ourselves by pretending that our world-music knowledge runs deep, so we’ll just say that the Super Eagles song is absurdly catchy, and that the Ofo track has an ace garage-rock guitar squeal. Highly recommended.

At some point in time you should give some love to Honny and the Bees Band’s “Psychedelic Woman” offa Ghana Soundz Vol 1. Good stuff.
Every music blog should be forced to post a Super Eagles track.
