Brandon Flowers Sees Red Over Green Day

72012931.jpgBrandon Flowers told the NME that Green Day’s DVD, Bullet in a Bible, has “lit a fire” in him, and he’s ready to talk some smack about the Bay Area trio’s America-bashing ways:

“I just thought it was really cheap,” he explained. “To go to a place like England or Germany and sing that song – those kids aren’t taking it the same way that he meant it. And he [Billie Joe Armstrong] knew it.”

The Killers’ frontman said he believed that his band’s new album ‘Sam’s Town’ is a much better representation of America.

… because like America, Sam’s Town is overweight, full of itself, and still wilfully misinterpreting Springsteen.

Flowers notches second win over rival Roosevelt
If the Charles H. Flowers High School boys basketball team's home game Tuesday was not against County 4A League rival Eleanor Roosevelt, chances are Brandon Green would have been resting his injured hip for another couple days, the junior guard said.
Flowers basketball coach gets animated
Nonetheless, the former 12-year Oxon Hill coach said he has mellowed a bit from those days. What others might find intimidating, though, the Jaguars find motivating, Flowers junior guard and third-year leading scorer Brandon Green said.

Has it already become that hard for him to get press? I guess the moustache alone isn’t enough to get the attention he needs.

Can’t wait for the Ted Nugent duet in five years’ time.

This is like Paris Hilton saying she’s offended by Pink’s “Stupid Girls.” I mean, dude – Q.E.D.

When will the insanity stop? Brandon Flowers is NO Bruce Springsteen. The Boss’s poop writes better songs than Brandon Flowers.

What portion of America is he representing, anyway? Wannabe-indie hipster tards who dress like Sgt. Pepper?

Riiiight, because proper representations of America *always* feature cheesey facial hair, pensive pre-emptive nostalgia and misappropriated angst (bonus points for homages to hot rods nobody drives anymore).

Brandon Flowers is NO Rick Springfield. He has a long way to go before we can even start comparing him to The Boss.

  9. ohHELLnaw  |   Posted on Oct 13th, 2006

Why on earth is he dressed like Sgt. Pepper in that photo?

  10. AcilletaM  |   Posted on Oct 13th, 2006

How can he play the tuba with that mustache?

I should’ve put him in a sleeper hold when I saw him at the Virgin Megastore.

    Fuck Green Day!

Man am I depressed by what is going on with the Killers. At this rate, I’m not even going to be able to enjoy Hot Fuss anymore. Boo!

I think I am with Miss Tanya on this one.

I’m not a big Brandon Flowers fan, but it’s about time someone said it.
