A single-in-waiting from the New Orleans-born rapper, “Know What I’m Doin’” contains everything we’ve come to loathe in modern hip-hop: Goofy catchphrases, extraneous big-money refrerences, Rick Ross. And yet we can’t stop playing it. If kids aren’t making bootleg “Click Click Click!” shirts by Christmas, we’ll start selling them ourselves.

as much as i love me some lilweezyana, t-pain is the hidden ingredient that makes everything taste better these days. too bad he actually tries to sing on this joint. i don’t even care if he jacks the melody of “i’m in love with a stripper” for the hook (“yeah, i know what i’m doiiiiin’”), i just wish he’d bring back the vocoder. without it, he’s just another rappa ternt sanga.
Easily one of the top three rap records to come out this year.
