Are we huge nerds for noticing that the end of “Lollipop,” the B-side of the Basement Jaxx’s “Take Me Back To Your House” single, samples the new-IM twinkle from the dialup years of AOL? Probably. But if we hadn’t been listening to the verses from legendary MC Roxanne Shante so closely, we likely wouldn’t have noticed that signature chime.

No, you’re not nerds–I think it’s cute too. I like the tiny loop of the guitar riff from “Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above” buried way down in the mix just before the chorus.
