It’s Judgment Day For “Judgment Night”: A Few More Potential Coulda-Shoulda-Woulda Tracks Emerge

December 1st, 2006 // 13 Comments

judgementnight.jpgAsk, and ye shall receive: Yesterday, we posted the De La Soul/Teenage Fanclub song from the Judgment Night soundtrack, and our lively commenters demanded to hear more. So we happily present the Cypress Hill/Sonic Youth collaboration “I Love You Mary Jane,” plus, as a special bonus, the Slayer/Atari Teenage Riot team-up from the Spawn soundtrack. Thanks to one of our most beloved commenters for the tracks.

Still have this album, mostly for the De La Fanclub, but also for the Boo Ya/Faith No moretrack. I don’t know what that says about me.

Didn’t Dino Jr. and Del The Funky Homosapien duet on this sndtrk? I’m a big fan of the former but can’t remember the track at all. Since it hasn’t been here either I guess it must have been a stinker?

I’m with the commenter who remembered Sticky’s “Oh Black Jesus” line from the BiOnyx song. I can remember that Judgment Day video getting way too much airtime on The Box when it came out…

The ATR/Slayer track is the only good thing about the Spawn album… or movie, for that matter.

The Mudhoney/Sir Mixalot and Cypress Hill/Pearl Jam tracks are my favorite on Judgment Night. “Click, click, bang, bang,” B-Real is a poet.

    OH HELLS YES!

No Remorse is definitely music to close the November Revenue books to!

  6. AcilletaM

The Dinosaur Jr/Del track is awesome, definitely not a stinker.

  7. Hamm Beerger

clicky clicky – That Del/Dino track was actually my favorite.

SUCCESS! Noamjamski, I have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship…

To those who might dismiss this record out of hand, I must point out that almost 2/3 of it has been mentioned in the two posts’ comments sections as “my fav” tracks. And now we have Penglin who agrees with me that the Mudhoney/SMaL track is a gas. “Just lost my street credibility, y’all!”

Scrolling down to the Soundtrack of the Apocalypse box to see if the ATR/Slayer song made it… Bingo!

Wow, just looked at the tracklist of the Spawn soundtrack on Amazon and saw something that sounds super intriguing:

Tiny Rubberband – Butthole Surfers & Moby

I’m going to have to see if I can scrape up a copy of that soundtrack.

That Spawn soundtrack received a great deal of playing amongst my friends when it came out. No Remorse is definitely the highlight, but the Crystal Method/Filter track was the one with all the airplay. Tiny Rubberband sounds better as a title than a song.
