Former Extreme Guitarist Willing To Appear On Reality Shows If Gary Cherone Isn’t Involved

live_nuno.jpgWe got more excited than usual during last night’s Top Chef when we spotted Nuno Bettencourt, former guitarist for Extreme and current member of the spaced-out Perry Farrell project Satellite Party. We’re guessing that the prospect of not having to perform “More Than Words” for the billionth time made Bettencourt, who refused to be filmed for the Extreme episode of Bands Reunited a few years back, more amenable to the appearance, but we have a few other questions: How did he feel about Marcel’s controverisal cherry gelée? Did Betty’s losing trio of chunky soups taste as unappetizing as they looked? And does the scruffy New York chef Sam, who picked Nuno out of the table’s lineup, still own his copy of Extreme II: Pornograffiti?

Bettencourt skipping out on that “Bands Reunited” thing was a total egomaniac douchebag move. Dude, you were in Extreme — one of the least musically extreme bands ever formed, BTW — so buy a stepladder and get over yourself.

I love that show. Last night, as always, Padma won!

The best part about Nuno not appearing on the Bands Reunited show was that they actually DID reunite a few months later and did a tour of South America!
