Second Spin: You Don’t Have To Be Afraid Of Aly & AJ

alyaj.jpgGranted, tween-pop sisters Aly & AJ have been polished to Stepford-style squeaky-clean perfection, and their album cover will get you stares if you happen to carry it around grown-ups. But 2005’s Into the Rush is loaded with Coulda-Shoulda singles, including the TRL hit “Chemicals React” (which we’ve already done to death here), and “Never Far Behind,” which was originally distributed only at Christian-music stores:

Considering Aly & AJ, High School Musical, Raven Simone, Hannah Montana, and older alums like Britney, Justin, and Christina, is Disney Corp. officially in charge of main-stream music? They’re like the Ma Bell of Top 40.

I just found out the girl on the left is 17, which really bummed me out because I’ve had a crush on her for, like, three years.

Hey are these the two who sing that song about liking Hitler? Or am I confusing them with two other blonde singing twins?

For the record, they are not the pro-Hitler band (that would be Prussian Blue). No idea on whether or not they’re pro-Hinder, though.

Shortly after Prussian Blue reaches majority, though, Idolator black-sheep cousin Fleshbot will have an exclusive interracial f/ those two.

Aly & AJ? Not so much…
