Now that Veronica Mars‘ time-slot is being taken over by the Pussycat Dolls–whose new talent-search show, Fetch Me A Skank, starts an eight-part run next month–we’re guessing the Mars Detective Agency Mars Investigations will be shutting down for good at the end of this season.* But at least we still got to enjoy last night’s episode, which opened with “Western Meadowlark,” a lovely ditty from Philadelphia band Brown Recluse Sings:

Actually, since Gilmore Girls will be gone next season I have a feeling they’ll push Veronica Mars into its timeslot. The rumor a few weeks ago was that they would be renewed for a 4th season (or a second season, depending on how you look at it).
