Is Prince Taking His Little Red Corvette On The Road This Summer?

February 12th, 2007 // 5 Comments

Members of Prince.org recently tracked down this seating chart for Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, and unless the Canadians have invented some new-fangled sport involving Hieroglyphics, it looks like the sort of stage the Purple One might employ on, say, a summer tour. Hmmm. Should we be getting our Sheila E. drum pads ready?

It may just be all of their past unorthodox seating layouts are archived. There is also a seating chart for “Temptations 2004.”

Even if it’s a fake, I wouldn’t be surprised if he toured this summer. It makes sense… off to buy a raspberry beret.

If you’re a fan, and you’re not homeless, it’s pretty much a rule that you see any Prince show you can that comes to town.

(I saw the Musicology tour in 2004, which was my first time seeing the man. It was great.)

I imagine any Prince show is going to rock like a hurricane, but the Musicology show I caught was retarded good–at least after the (admittedly earned) self-congratulatory video montage. Any time Morris Day and the Time show up unannounced to open, you’ve got yourself a goldmine.

He should seize this opportunity after the Super Bowl performance. It would definitely be a must see. I can’t see him doing too many extensive tours down the road.
