Videodrone: Deep Down, Joss Stone Must Know That She’s No Good

February 15th, 2007 // 7 Comments

From all reports, last night’s Brit Awards were a pretty staid affair, an opinion that’s reinforced by the fact that most of the post-show buzz has been about the normally yawn-worthy Joss Stone. Not only did Stone give a shout-out to Robbie Williams while affecting a California-girl accent, she tried to toss off a verse of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab”–a pretty dumb thing to do, since Winehouse had just finished performing the song. Is Stone trying to gain “street cred” by emulating the awards-show behavior of Macy Gray, or is she just desperate to remind the audience that she was, at one time, famous for singing?

Oh, no, don’t tell me Joss Stone is starting her descent into attention-whoredom. I like her, I don’t want to believe it!

  2. Maulleigh

She should get a Vh1 reality show where 20 record producers vye to produce her next album. Jewel could be her Ryan Seacrest.

  3. Weezy F Baby

haha why would they give a wireless mic to an awards presenter?

I once read a dis from Simon Cowell, where he talked about how he was on Oprah, and Joss Stone showed up with an entire platoon of bodyguards. He told her to get over herself.

In the annals of low-talent Brit media whoring: Joss, when Simon is telling you to get over yourself, time to go home.

Wow. That clip looked WAY more interesting than the Grammy Awards. Clearly I’m watching the wrong rewards show. “Well Joss Stone has that envelope. Let’s see her reaction when she opens it.”

Dear Lord, I didn’t think it was possible for me to liek her any less…at least she didn’t sing…much…
