The latest entry in the Chinese Democracy release-date sweepstakes comes from HMV, which is now accepting preorders for Guns N’ Roses latest album. Alleged release date: Sept. 17. Of this year. (UK release dates are usually Mondays, so US stores would presumably see the album on Sept. 18.) Anybody want to hazard a guess as to when the next “the album has been delayed, but we promise to have it out by the end of this decade” announcement will come?

    I think HMV also recently posted a release date for the forthcoming Radiohead set and claimed it was going to be on EMI, which probably won’t even exist by the time Radiohead’s record is out. Not that it would be on EMI anyway…
