Indietastic has a few advance tracks from Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky, which comes out on May 15; the album’s the first Wilco record to feature contributions from Nels Cline and Pat Sansone, and we especially like “You Are My Face,” which has a well-placed guitar solo around the 1:40 mark:
Wilco – Either Way [MP3, link expired]

they must have been listening to ‘wake of the flood’
Yeah, I’m a little worried that I might hear these songs in a couple years on the softrock station my dentist plays. Maybe these are the “Theologians” of the new album?
While I’m the first to admit that Jay B. seemed like a (redacted)-bag in the Sam Jones movie, Wilco’s music does seem to have suffered in his absence. Or maybe Jeff was more exciting when medicated? Either way, yawnsville on these tracks.
I dig the new tracks. But I agree with your take on Jay, xtrianrut. As big a prick as he may have been, he was good for the band’s music.
Yeah he was. Give the new David Vandervelde a listen; he recorded and co-wrote the first (and best track) “nothin no” with JB and it sounds fantastic. The man knows his way around a studio, even if his live solos meander like piss on the sidewalk.
