The Vault: Colin Blunstone Says Goodbye

cblunstone.jpgAs the lead singer of the Zombies, Colin Blunstone was responsible for numerous songs that your father sang along to in the car, including “Time Of The Season” and “She’s Not There.” And while his 1971 album One Year didn’t make him a solo star in America, it’s a fine example of early-twee Brit-pop, one that’s highlighted by “Caroline Goodbye,” a ballad about Blunstone’s romance with Bond girl Caroline Munro:

This is an incredible, incredible record, sung by one of my favourite voices of the 1960s (not far behind Carl Wilson) – but you didn’t post the very best song from One Year: his breathtaking cover of Tim Hardin’s “Misty Roses”!

INCREDIBLE. To think I’ve treasured my Zombie Heaven box set for this long but haven’t heard One Year yet…

this is certainly one of my favorite albums, though I believe the real heart of it is in the orchestral pieces. it’s a must for any zombies fan. http://therisingstorm.net/colin-blunstone-one-year/
