Videodrone: So This Is Why Mims’ “This Is Why I’m Hot” Sounded So Familiar
Every time we hear Mims’ “This Is Why I’m Hot”–and, considering how often we profile in front of the downstairs bodega nowadays, we hear it a lot–we can’t help but think that the song’s “I’m hot because you’re hot” syllogism sounds so familiar. And it wasn’t until a marathon-like purely accidental viewing of the ABC Family network over the weekend that we solved this mini-mystery: Mims lifted the line from the 1989 movie Teen Witch! Or at least he maybe saw the movie when he was ten years old, and it left an impression. Either way, the clip below is proof of the glories of YouTube–just be sure to make it past the opening bicycle-talk scene. If only we could figure out what the name of the song is!
