Nottingham’s Medium Medium was one of the key acts of the late-’70s/early-’80s punk-funk-disco movement, though the group is usually cited at the end of a long list that also includes Gang Of Four, Liquid Liquid and the Pop Group. “Hungry, So Angry,” released in 1981, was Medium Medium’s lone “hit,” a groovy white-boy workout that some claim helped popularize the slap-bass sound:
