The NME report that Prince would be retiring his greatest hits after a 21-night run in London this summer has been debunked by The Guardian, which is also floating a possible heiress to Vanity and Apollonia:
Contrary to reports, Prince will not be playing his greatest hits “for the last time”. Instead, fans can expect to hear a mix of material, including a version of the Beatles’ The Long and Winding Road. Briefly answering questions at the tour’s launch in cental London, the singer also said that he was a huge fan of Amy Winehouse and planned a cover of her song Love Is A Losing Game, with the intention of inviting her on stage at one of his shows.
And hey, if the Bond girl thing doesn’t work out for Amy, perhaps the two of them can work on part three of the Purple Rain-Graffiti Bridge trilogy.

Bond Girl? Ugh, what an awful idea. Will they at least feed her/ween her off the booze before filming?
@heidiho: Srsly – I’d pay good money to see Winehouse in the part, but…does Barbara Broccoli know what she’s in for? In terms of on-set attendance, Winehouse will make Lindsay Lohan look like Julie Andrews.
As for Prince, I wonder if Winehouse could get him to break his recent no-cussing pledge to spit out just one “fuckery.”
I would ride my purple motorcycle to Hell and back or purify myself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka just to hear the Purple One do “Pussy Control” live…
Any Winehouse in a Bond movie? Well, I guess that franchise will go back to sucking…
It looks like the ‘performing his hits for the last time’ comes from the PR company for the shows, but is not confirmed by Prince’s people. I’m guessing they’re just trying to hype the show, but given that 1) it’s Prince and b) the tickets are very reasonably priced I don’t think they need to hype it that much.
