Apparently, the people who work at the iTunes Store are stuck in mid-1993 or so: That’s the only way to explain their way-out-of-it Mother’s Day picks, which range from the absurdly stereotypical (Henry Mancini) to the just plain absurd (a Carnie Wilson lullaby album). More nonsense after the click-through (Full Force??); meanwhile, we look forward to the Father’s Day list, which will no doubt include a Regis Philbin CD and the soundtrack to The Natural.
It’s like when people I know go into iTunes, and make a “themed” playlist by searching for a certain word.
If I did that for my mom… well, she’d probably like the Paul Simon (“That Was Your Mother” is off of one of her favorite albums), but not so much the My Chem (“Mama” would just get a raised eyebrow or two).
