Stuck On Repeat: The Smittens Pile It On
We unearthed A Little Revolution, the 2005 album by the Vermont indiepop crew the Smittens, during our iTunes digging today, and while most of the tracks were perfectly serviceable crush songs, we developed a particular fancy for “Tell Al Green.” It’s the story of two people who desperately want to make out, but feel too socially awkward to do so–so naturally, both of them decide to hide behind a girl-group-worthy wall of sound before they can come out and talk about their feelings:
