Local Police Seeking Victim Of Akon Body-Slamming

Just when you thought Akon was having a bad run, along comes the Fishkill Police Department–who are apparently unimpressed by the singer’s WWE-caliber skills (above)–to make things a little bit worse:

Fishkill town police are looking for the KFEST concertgoer who on Sunday was plucked from the crowd by a security guard, directed toward headlining musician Akon and then hoisted by Akon on the singer’s shoulders and hurled back into the audience.

Detective. Lt. John Berlingieri of the Fishkill Police said talks have been held within the department regarding the possibility of questioning Akon about the incident, which occurred during Fishkill-based WSPK (104.7 FM)’s annual KFEST concert at Dutchess Stadium.

“We’re trying to identify that kid, just to find out whether or not we have any kind of criminal offense,” Berlingieri said. “We are looking to speak to him. No victim. No crime.”

We’re guessing that puts the speculation over whether or not Sunday’s body-slamming was a stunt to rest. Or does it? Honestly, the current state of “viral marketing” makes us only 75% sure that this manhunt is the real deal.

With all due respect to Fishkill’s finest, they could be just as clueless as the rest of us to well-orchestrated viral, erm, stunts.

I can’t even bring myself to watch it. I’m kind of disgusted with the internet right now.
