Matos WK FTW.

And, re: "metamorphoses into good company...(her) inflection is 1980s Valley Girl, the timing is 1930s wisecracking dame, and the combination will be platinum ore for the filmmaker who extracts it."

I often wonder if frustrated scribes put obvious lies like this in their copy as a vent after interviewing an asstarded subject who will get in the mag one way or the other. (You think they'd spike a cover story just 'cause the pride of the Ottawa valley couldn't rub her three brain cells together that day?) I'm surprised the byline wasn't Alan Smithee.

@Catbirdseat: For the record, I would like to say that the only times in recent years I ever "read" the aforementioned magazines is thumbing through them at the airport--the only way they should/can be. I haven't read Spin since Sia Michel left and everything went to shit--looking through their "what's on rotation at the Spin offices" when traveling last week was in a word: laughable. But you HAVE to admit that Spin used to be a decent read once upon a time. Blender? Never. In fact, Blender ruined Spin, one of the last decent high-profile music glossies. Kicks in the balls for Blender, thank you.

I'm honestly dumbfounded that any of you, my fellow commenters, actually read *ANY* of these magazines. You might as well hand the publisher $10 dollars, and then watch as he lights it up with a match in front of your eyes.

Then kicks you in the balls.

@aniktwo: Amen--on the music mags nowadays. But Blender over Spin? Granted they are almost the same magazine at this point, but Blender is a 90-page headache.

Blender is terrible, but I read it more often than Spin and Rolling Stone combined. Why is music magazine journalism so terrible these days?

Ned, fwiw: Chester's Playmate wife is the one that he was with during the stalker ordeal.*

*Yes, I am embarrassed that I know this. I just remember the Wired article specifying that it was his 2nd wife that he recently married.

that after meeting his current Playboy-model mate at a party, he went straight home and broke up with his wife

Wait, hold on, this makes the stalker story from a few weeks back seem like the worst case of adding insult to injury EVER.

"Yeah, sorry about having to be paranoid about your private life for a year and everything else, I'm glad you stuck by me, honey! Oh and I'm dumping you for some surgical enhancements."

This feature kinda reminds me of the thing they do on NY1 where they hold up the day's newspaper and read off the headlines.
