Yesterday, one of your Idolators was given the chance to ruminate on “songs of the summer,” and the resultant brain-shaking led to us pulling one of our favorite summertime songs from 20 years ago, Janet Jackson’s “Pleasure Principle,” out of YouTube’s mothballs. “Pleasure Principle” was a relatively minor hit from Jackson’s album Control–it peaked at No. 14 on the charts, making it the only single released from the album that didn’t reach the Billboard Hot 100’s top 5–but it’s an effervescent, effortless track that, clearly, Janet didn’t listen to enough while crafting her floptastic 20 Y.O. last year.

Ha!
I just loaded this song on my player.
Under-rated song if you ask me. The studio production value still sounds great today.
