Above, the Ace Frehley/Zach Braff Dunkin’ Donuts ad that we mentioned yesterday. The over/under on how many takes it took for Ace to get his line just unslurry enough: 57.

  1. Ted Striker

That’s the most lucid mummy I’ve ever heard.

  2. Whigged

Mr. Speed must’ve been working overtime to ensure it looked like Ace still has fast fingers rather than shaky, slow ones.

  3. FionaScrapple

The artistic apex of his career, really.

  4. Hyman Decent

Er, so what does “P & L” stand for in our world? “Profit & Loss”?

  5. Mick Kraut

I would be curious to know exactly how Gene Simmons is making money off of this…He has to be getting his beak wet somehow in all of this…

  6. Maura Johnston

@Hyman Decent: no idea–I’m in editorial!

  7. Hyman Decent

@Mick Kraut: Hmmm… Is Ace sporting the KISS-trademarked facepaint, or is it just different enough get away with not having to license it?

  8. lezlieannzie

Are you sure that’s not Chris Walken?

  9. Jack Fear

@LeslieAnnzie: Nah. Walken would’ve ended the line with “baby.”

  10. Jupiter8

That was less insufferable than “Garden State” anyway…

  11. lezlieannzie

Ace would’ve chewed the scenery in Garden State.

  12. Jack Fear

Anybody remember the TV movie, “KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park“? I was only a kid when it aired, and not the most critical viewer – but it was screamingly obvious to me, even then, that Ace’s dialogue had been dubbed in later. So he’s always been a marble-mouth.

That was so AWESOME! Sparks, drag queens, and coffee. Shitty coffee, but the sparks coming out of the guitar were wicked cool! Is “Ace” a chick?
