Listening Station: Chris Letcher Feels The Chill
London-by-way-of-South Africa singer Chris Letcher’s Frieze has been getting a few spins around the Idolator flophouse lately, particularly the opening track “Deep Frieze.” “Deep” is a dense, gorgeous piece of pop that brings to mind an amaglamation of Ed Harcourt and “My Iron Lung,” and it’s a worthy introduction to Letcher, whose intricate songs only get better with each listen. (Here’s hoping Letcher’s aesthetic rubs off on collaborator Dave Matthews, and not the other way around.)
