One of the best film events in my life — a 1990 screening of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls with a panel of Russ Meyer, Roger Ebert, the redhead from the Carrie Nations, at least one or two of the other actors and, most surprising to everyone, the guy who played Z-Man, who had apparently spent 20 years disowning the film and the experience but who was totally affable and relaxed in discussion. No swords were involved.
