I admit I had a huge soft spot for “Alcohol,” Brad Paisley’s 2005 hit about a life lived through beer goggles, but mostly because a.) I drink too much and b.) country drinking songs appeal to the side of me that spent far too much time in suburban Pennsylvania bars drinking warm domestic beer and being forced to listen to “Friends In Low Places” for the 400th time. And maybe recent professional changes in my life have made me more receptive to what has to be his “country music finally discovers MySpace” song “Online” (YouTube clip here, embedding sadly disabled), but I think I’d be down with a country video starring William Shatner and Marcia from The Brady Bunch either way. Now I find out he’s a cartoon nerd who’s been animating his own clips for his tour. This is turning into one of those relationships where you really enjoy grabbing a beer with the guy, as long as he doesn’t invite the rest of his country-pop pals.

Then there’s the eat Hershey’s and join Brad’s road crew contest. But I suppose it all depends on how you feel about Hershey’s for your S’mores.
He’s always seemed like a bro to me. Never understood all the fuss over “Alcohol,” though, “Me Neither” is much better.
What do you think of old Jerry Jeff? He’s a fake Texan but the man can write a drinking song.
I love Brad. He put John Mayer to shame on their Crossroads.
“Ticks” is one of my top five singles of the year.
@Matos: I love “Ticks” too.
Holy fuck. Getting my commenting name revoked be damned– the music taste on this site has officialy hit its nadir. Call me a snob or whatever, but Brad fucking Paisley fucking sucks.
The marching band at the end of “Online” is one of the best jokes I’ve ever heard on a record.
Kellie Pickler unleashes chickens on the stage during his solo.
Brad makes a pre-show video about Pickler getting fake cans.
Touche’ Brad Paisley.
Um, not that I’ve heard the rest of his album or anything, but all against the metrosexual trend seriously need to check out “I’m Still A Guy.”
Brad Paisley is my all-time country crush/imaginary drinking buddy.
it’s worth noting that Paisley always includes a killer guitar instrumental on his albums. dude can friggin’ play.
I sort of hate him for owning a Lear jet (the waste!) but I love him for playing a wah-wah pedal the size of a small diving board. “Online” veers close to glib nerd-bashing, but the marching-band coda forgives all sins.
That song about fishing (“I’m Gonna Miss Her”?) FTW
Oh, I love that “Whiskey Lullaby” song too. But he’s married to the gal from “Father of the Bride”/”According to Jim” . . .
He covers a Bill Andersen song with Allison Kraus that I really like, “Whiskey Lullaby.” I’ve always thought maybe he was worth seeking out.
Lady Gaga is so talented!
