A new DVD concert film of a 1967 European date by the Stax/Volt Revue is due in October, and since a.) I’m greedy and b.) have trouble waiting for proper release dates because I’m a good digital citizen, I went hunting on YouTube for any footage from this fondly remembered package tour that included Booker T., Otis Redding, and others. All I could find was a performance of “When Something Is Wrong With My Baby” by Sam and Dave, which is so playful and poignant, especially the flourish of guitar around 1:10, that it just makes me break out in a grin. The clip doesn’t give any indication where it happened to be recorded, but if the night in Norway captured on the DVD is anything like this, it’s just whet my appetite even further.
