In one of those “wow, it took them this long” moves that you’re nonetheless just thrilled to finally see on record, the Long Island house where John Coltrane lived and worked from 1964 until his death from liver cancer in 1967–and where his wife Alice continued to live until 1973–has been honored by the New York and National Registry of Historic Places, a nice tribute just a few months after 40th anniversary of his death.
