    I’m less irritated by people who think the music of their youth is the greatest thing ever than I am by those who think the music before their youth is the greatest thing ever (Lenny Kravitz, the Gallagher Brothers, the Marsalis Brothers, white bluesfolk). New old fogies are usually even LESS critical and self-aware than old old fogies.

    @dickdogfood: I dated a girl in high school whose favorite artists were Jimmy Buffett and Johnny Rivers. Because those were her idiot father’s favorites, too.

    To this day, every time I hear a Jimmy Buffet song, I want to gouge out my eyes with a rusty screwdriver.
