The megamoney deal between Madonna and Live Nation is now official: “The paradigm in the music business has shifted and as an artist and a business woman, I have to move with that shift,” Madonna said in a statement. “For the first time in my career, the way that my music can reach my fans is unlimited. I’ve never wanted to think in a limited way and with this new partnership, the possibilities are endless.” If this were 1991, that would be code for “Look for Sex II in a bookstore near you soon,” but it’s 2007, so that probably just means she’ll bring the MisShapes on tour next year. Sigh. [AP]

This song is over, say goodbye.
I certainly have a lot of thoughts on this, but my guess is that “as an artist and a business woman, I have to move with that shift,” translates to, “Kick that bitch Celine out of the theater at Caesars Palace – Vegas, here I come.”
@dennisobell: You are my fucking hero. Seriously.
