The Worst Album Cover Of The Year Race Needs You (And A New Trapper Keeper)

October 18th, 2007 // 5 Comments

angels.jpgWith the end of the year coming–and more records getting pushed back to 2008–we’re starting to run out of new candidates for our Worst Album Cover Of The Year Race, which will culminate in a big, brackety tournament during the month of December. So if we’ve forgotten a particularly heinous cover that you happened across this year, please let us know, whether in comments or via e-mail. Because we don’t want to be forced to bring not-bad-but-kinda-lazy efforts like the Angels & Airwaves cover at left into the race; that’ll just make the Nuge’s cruise to the top spot seem that much more ievitable.

    The New Pornographers – Challengers.

I’m pretty sure this Angels & Airwaves cover is an homage to Drew Struzan’s film posters for numerous sci-fi and adventure movies… which I suppose relates to the sci-fi/adventure concept record they’re going for.

Definitely not a candidate for Worst Album Cover of the Year.

Ack, I should have googled this yesterday before I commented. It actually IS a Drew Struzan piece.

I’m hearin’ the Crispy One on this. The faux distressing is kinda wack, though.
