Amy Winehouse is pulling out of next week’s mtvU Woodies taping thanks to visa problems that, according to her dad, are stemming from the fact that she confessed to a marijuana possession charge in Norway. Apparently Germany doesn’t have such hangups, however, as she was just added to tonight’s European Music Awards bill in Munich. [RS]

ARRRRRRRGH! Amy was the only reason I cared about the mtvU Woodies!
FWIW, it must be true — mtvU has scrubbed Amy from the list of performers at the Woodies site — previously, she had been front-and-center as the night’s big “get”.
I hope she’ll be able to make it to Grammys in February.

@DHMBIB: Yeah but would you even have been able to watch them? The only person I know who gets mtvU is Kate. Which makes the whole “pseudo-event” idea behind them even more funny, really.
@maura: I don’t get mtvU either — my college days are far in the past — but I was planning to keep an eye on the live-stream at mtvu.com solely to check out Amy’s performance.
