Avert Your Eyes: It’s The First Entry The Worst Album Of 2008 Race

51eIGZeXgXL._AA240_.jpgNo, not album cover. Album. Because the timely tracklist for dipshit “celebrity” DJ Steve Aoki’s mix CD Pillowface And His Airplane, set to hit stores in January, just landed in our inbox. And aside from being chock full of the hot hits of 2005, it also features the most nauseating collection of guest stars and collaborations that we’ve seen in some time.

1. Refused- New Noise
2. Justice- Waters Of Nazereth (Erol Alkan’s Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr Re-Edit) w/ Pase Rock’s Guest Drop
3. Does It Offend You, Yeah?- We Are Rockstars
4. Services- Element Of Danger (MSTRKRFT Remix)
5. Goose- Bring it On w/ Todd Fink’s Guest Drop
6. Larry Tee & Princess Superstar- Licky (Work it Out) [Herve Goes Low Remix] w/ Santogold’s Guest Drop
7. Green Velvet- Shake and Pop w/ Kid Sister’s Guest Drop
8. Klaxons- Gravity’s Rainbo (Soulwax Remix)
9. The Mystery Jets- The Boy Who Ran Away (Riton Re-Dub)
10. Peaches- Boys Wanna Be Her (Weird Science Remix)
11. Datarock- Fa-Fa-Fa w/ Steve Bays’ Guest Drop
12. Yelle- Je Veux Te Voir
13. Franz Ferdinand- Do You Want To (Erol Alkan’s Glam Racket Remix)
14. KIM- Wet ‘N Wild w/ Mickey Avalon’s Guest Drop
15. Bloc Party- Helicopter (Weird Science Remix feat. Peaches)
16. Justice- D.A.N.C.E. (MSTRKRFT Remix)
17. Scanners- Low Life (L.A. Riots’ Remix) w/ Uffie’s Guest Drop

Even if you have a neon soft spot for Justice and their ilk (like me), playing this looks like it could actually cause some sort of internal bleeding in the bowels. Mickey Avalon and Har Mar Superstar (according to the press release) and Princess Superstar and Peaches and something that honestly refers to itself as “Does It Offend You, Yeah?” Heaven help us all.

Christ. Your dad owns Benihana and this is the best you can do?

  2. Audif Jackson Winters III  |   Posted on Nov 2nd, 2007

I don’t know, at least it has a Green Velvet track on it. I’ll always like that guy for having the balls to release “La La Land”, and even having big success with it.

@qyntellspitbull: well… benihana is pretty wack so he’s just carrying on a family tradition. they charge an arm and a leg for the kind of crap you make at home when all you have left in the kitchen is some rice, an egg, and soy sauce, just because the dude can flip shrimp tails in his hat. no fucking thank you.

I bet Good Charlotte is pissed about being left off of this thing… Is this really the same dude who put out a Kill Sadie record?

I like Does it Offend You, Yeah!

  6. It’s like a blog-house best-of. I know that’s something you guys would say with derision, but I think it’s awesome. Even despite M. Avalon.

(And you’re right about Does It Offend You, Yeah? being a terrible, terrible band.)

Does It Offend You, Yeah?, a terrible band? Hardly. Clearly you haven’t heard “Let’s Make Out”. Or “We Are Rockstars.” Or “Battle Royale”. That’s some badass stuff.

DIOY,Y? are basically hoxton’s Black Kids as far as i can tell…

  9. sovietpanda  |   Posted on Nov 3rd, 2007

It’s like a blog-house best-of… from two years ago. The tracklisting is pathetic… you think all his famous friends could at least get him some exclusives or something

  10. Recury  |   Posted on Nov 5th, 2007

Can’t it be in the worst album cover race too? I don’t know what any of that stuff is supposed to be.

  11. Paperboy 2000  |   Posted on Nov 4th, 2007

No comments about the inclusion of Refused? He’s sticking to his HC roots…

WOW. Its like all the summer jams of 2006, maybe 2005. Well done Steve.

Even after reading this I still can’t wait to hear this. The tracklist looks great.
