“The Seattle trio’s ability to churn out consistently great songs with more variation than a bag of jelly beans is a trait worth admiring.”
“Kevin Michael is a new R&B artist signed to Atlantic Records. My friend recently introduced me to him, and I’ve been loving everything I’ve been hearing!”
“I’m not the biggest fan of country music, with the exception of Alison Krauss (who btw has the #1 best selling album on Amazon.com right now) because no matter the genre, you can’t help but recognize talented artists!”
“So, here we have the first song to leak off their upcoming album and it is titled “What Hurts The Most”, btw yeah it is a cover of the Rascal Flatt’s hit though the original singer was Mark Wills. This track’s apparently going to be the first single and well, i like it! It’s pretty cool.”
“For a band whose record sales were so unremarkable while active, The Velvet Underground’s influence has been anything but since.”
We were going to keep going but kinda forgot about the words because there were so many awesome MP3s! Frankly we’re liking everything we’re hearing on these blogs. They’re pretty cool!
Best Music Blog [2007 Weblog Awards]

This isn’t exactly the pot calling the kettle black– maybe more like the pot calling the kettle grayish.
@blobby: Also, no nomination for Idolator? Ouch!
idolator doesn’t get nominated because they’ve basically devolved into a place for jess harvell to bitch about other writers, and what does he do in response to it? BITCHES ABOUT OTHER WRITERS! OF COURSE!
Unfortunately, You Aint No Picasso is not on this list so, and as much as I like these other blogs, You Aint Gettin No Vote From me.
Oh whatever, I like Idolator more than pretty much any other music blog out there precisely because of its writing.
now, now…we were just playing. sorta. maybe. a little. maybe. but seriously, there are some good blogs in that list. like we said, they’re all pretty cool. but mistaking our earnest, bloggish enthusiasm for sarcasm and snark? that’s pretty uncool of you guys.
even still, semi-irritated all-caps comments are also pretty cool. everything’s groovy, really.
gee whizz – which blogger “isn’t the biggest fan of country music”? i reckon i AM the biggest fan of country music – but i always like to hear other people’s opinions – as long as they’re clean!
Why hasn’t the blogosphere yielded another Lester Bangs? I can’t believe that the best quote on this post is a fucking jellybean comparison. Maybe the writer of that one will really push the envelope and employ onions or rainbows as analogy next time out.
it’s all good, brah
“kevin michael.” heh. insert gg allin joke here.
go stereogum!
