Here’s hoping that Activision has learned that staying on topic is not Johnny Rotten’s strong suit after witnessing his performance earlier this week at a press conference where the company asked him to help promote Guitar Hero III. In the following clip, “spokesman” Rotten spends about 45 seconds discussing the game before launching into one of his trademark semicoherent diatribes, using profanity nearly 100 times in the process. That’s a lot of quarters in the swear jar, John.

I saw Lydon on the street once, outside a Virgin Megastore in London. I was pretty young at the time, and I almost said something to him about what a fan i was, and how much his music meant to me. But then I thought, of all the celebrities in the world, he is the one who would be most likely to respond to a meaningless pleasantry with some kind of withering and barely coherent profanity. And I think I was right to just keep walking.

So Activision asked Johnny Rotten (ne John Lydon) to speak at a press conference promoting Guitar Hero III a few days ago.
Pure wank. Well, you get what you pay for. He might still be entertaining/funny if he wasn’t so fucking fat! He used to be original, now he just looks and sounds like every other self-loathing asshole. He John- you don’t have a monopoly on that schtick any more.
