DrMartens.jpgReading the tracklisting for this 1997 sampler CD handed out by Dr Martens is giving me a serious nostalgia buzz (even if some of these bands are still putting out music). Also: The presence of Rockers Hi-Fi is making me wonder just how many ’90s acts were contractually/legally forced to add prefixes or suffixes like “Hi-Fi” or “US” or “UK,” etc., to their names. When did that become the preferred way for skirting infringement lawsuits, anyway? [Earful Of Noize]

Kieron Gillen & Jamie McKelvie’s Britpop comic book “Phonogram” had gushing praise for Kenickie, so I bought a used copy of “At The Club.” Just couldn’t get into it.

Squeeze and Wham both briefly had to affix “UK” to their names in the States, so it goes back further than the ’90s.

this one’s good, but i prefer the one before it that had the tchad blake remix of i love a snot by lisa germano. because the cd store i went to in high school was where doc martens samplers went when they died.
