Greeting The Day With Ma$e

Good morning, everyone. Happy Friday. Maura’s taking the day off to enjoy the rest of her time in the City of Angels, repeat guest-editing offender Dan Gibson will be riding shotgun, Mike Huckabee is semi-improbably one step closer to becoming our smiling dictator, and Britney’s being eaten alive by the rats of NIMH or butt naked in the back of a paddy wagon or something. But: Ma$e has a new TV show.

The ad XXL posted for Pastor Betha’s foray into televangelism is more or less a minute-long PowerPoint presentation with an odd, cod Coldplay guitar track, so here’s a clip from when Mr. “Born To Succeed” had a slightly larger shooting budget. (The boggling cost in flashpots alone…) And doesn’t everyone feel a little better now, basking in his cherubic glow?

Didn’t know him ninety-one, wish I didn’t know him now.

One of the best things about the end of the 90s was the end of Ma$e, she says, before remembering the New Media Dictum: If You Were Famous After 1987, You Will Always Be Famous.

I thought he rapped like a lisping twelve (twelf?) year old.
