Of course, you, the Idolator reader, are anxiously awaiting the results of the Idolator poll so you can wrap up 2007 with a tidy bow and move on with your life. But in te meantime, you get the Top 5 tracks on Christian Adult Contemporary Radio for the year now fading in the rear view mirror of your sensible minivan. And consider this fact: each of these tracks were played at least 32,000 times on radio this year. That may seem like nothing compared to the 600,000+ spins “The Sweet Escape” pulled in 2007, but in our new Huckabee nation and with a much smaller pool of stations, 32,000 spins should make us collectively afraid. Deeply, deeply afraid.
1. Rush of Fools - “Undo”
2. Big Daddy Weave - “Every Time I Breathe”
3. Lincoln Brewster - “Everlasting God” (not the video, but a sort of sanctified sing-a-long, it appears)
4. Jeremy Camp - “Give You Glory” [Curse you, BEC Recordings and your disabled embedding]
5. MercyMe - “Bring The Rain” (again, not the official video, but some sort of contest winner)

Big Daddy Weave sounds like the name of a Southern rapper with a regional novelty hit circa ‘98.
@RodneyJ: If only. ‘98 was a good year for that sort of thing.
And just think, if they ever have any “real” hits, they’ll deny ever being Christian artists!
@Jupiter8: eh, all but one have done that. Give Relient K some time :)
Big Daddy Weave is a great example of why people go HUH? at Christian music OR can spot Christian music a mile away without a note or lyrics. What names.
@DanGibson: Exactly!
If I pose a related query about “Delirious?”, do I end it with one, or two question marks?
@StuntKockSteeev: Either is acceptable, I believe.
I misread the accompanying graphic as, “Christina Ricci: blessing or blasphemy?”
@Jupiter8: Oh, here come the memories of when I used to like MxPx…
..and also how being signed to A&M makes a secular band out of you, apparently.
My mom gave me a Big Daddy Weave cd… I still have yet to listen to it. It’s the name….
But still ‘Jars Of Clay’, not so bad.
