For those of you who aren’t content with singing “wheedeleedeedeleedooo” along with your air guitaring, a dude who goes by the name of Nitrous Roxide has created the Air Guitar Rocker, a belt-hooked amp is demonstrated above. According to Wired‘s Gadget Lab blog, the mini-amp works as such: “The belt buckle detects strums of the air plectrum, while the belt unit plays the sounds.” Do you know what an “air plectrum” is? I didn’t! And it sounds kinda fancy, no?
It’s a pick! No, really. And here I thought it was some esoteric way of describing the air stream or the breeze made by your thrashing hips or… oh, I don’t know. Also, when I listen to the above clip, it really just sounds like the air-guitaring dude is just playing along with the actual recording of “You Really Got Me,” which makes me pretty sure that this gag gift that will probably be a massive hit, providing that Mr. Roxide gets all the clearances he needs to from music publishers.
