panicccccccc.jpgPanic At The Disco have dropped the post-first-word exclamation point from their name. Officially. Please make the appropriate adjustments to your stylebooks, and practice your new inflection of the band’s name accordingly. [RS]

    ¿Panic at the Disco?

Would’ve been funnier if they jacked GYBE’s schtick and just occasionally moved the exclamation point around.

Clearly, they are maturing artistically. Soon they’ll be changing their name to Disco Panic and writing albums of Gang of Four influenced post-punk.

I was hoping that THEY got dropped.

Aw, man. I’m going to miss throwing my pointer finger to the sky twice when I bitch about how awful they are.

    That’s mildly alarming.

So I guess the “mature” album with strings in the bridge and piano intros and instrumental interludes that don’t serve any purpose is up next?

Someone needs to get Raftery on the horn and get his comment on this development…

    From the Idolator archives:

-One of the Shitheads! from Panic! At The Disco! will make a cameo on on Fall Out Boy’s upcoming album, All The Ironically Self-Deprecating Interviews In The World Won’t Take Away From The Fact That You Do, Indeed, Suck.

Haven’t these guys been covering “The Weight” in concert recently?

I know RS did some big thing about them doing a more “classic, organic rock and roll record.” Interesting that the photo accompanying the article showed the band in the studio recording through guitar amps featuring DIGITAL MODELING TECHNOLOGY.

That sums everything up quite nicely.

Musicbrainz and Last.Fm users openly weep.

Man, this is just like when matchbox 20 officially became matchbox twenty. Fun times.

@SuperUnison: I think you just described their first album, actually.
