Coachella: Let The Rumormongering Begin Anew!

2008a.jpg

This poster’s ratio of B.S. to actual bands who will probably show up and play this year’s Coachella festival is probably about 50/50, although I have to call foul on the prospect of Kylie Minogue being relegated to the dance tent. Like that would fit any of her crazy headdresses! (Here’s last year’s actual poster for reference.)

Third Eye Blind on Saturday seems, at best, dubious.

Gym Class Heroes and Dwight Yoakam on Day Three- think they’ll play together?

  4. The current kinda-sorta-mostly-confirmed list:

    The Breeders
    Death Cab for Cutie
    Cold War Kids
    Kid Sister
    VHS or Beta
Heidi Vogel & The Cinematic Orchestra

i would put grand ole party and rilo kiley on the same day on my coachella fantasy poster Also, I am chagrined to see the omission of my own contribution to the ill informed specualtion- the Verve!!! Also, didn’t we go through the whole No Doubt thing last year? Haven’t we all learned our no doubt related lesson.

I say bullshit on this one, but for Kylie in the tent, there is precedent. Its where Madonna “performed” when she did Coachella. If by perform you mean suck ass of course.

Great to see Sara Bareilles still hidden in this one. That’s comedy gold. I think she should show up in all future fake Coachella posters.

  13. drjimmy11  |   Posted on Jan 10th, 2008

    no Led Zep??

  14. Silverfuture  |   Posted on Jan 11th, 2008

    Deltron 3030? Heh.

Actually, this is the second faked Coachella poster I’ve seen for this year’s festival. Stereogum found one a couple months ago that includes Godspeed You! Black Emperor and I LOLed in my pants because a capitalistic festival is pretty much the last place they’d stage a reunion.

All that to say that GY!BE would be enough to get me to go after the awesomeness of last year. Mmmm false hope.

For which act do we toss the bullshit flag…Aphex Twin actually performing a live set? Portishead in America? Or should the flag be tossed at the idea of the idea of anyone caring to see No Doubt more than either of the two?

Sounds like a great mock lineup(portishead, radiohead and aesop rock). A must see. I want to see how many of these acts show up on the real bill.
