I can't even believe I'm opening myself up to this, but yes, the question as it appeared in print, was totally, royally botched. The original phrasing was about how Husker Du were the first indie band of that era to make that jump and how they were roasted for it, and it got cut down, badly, to resemble not only nothing of the sort, but plain ol' misinformation. That got past a lot of folks here, but ultimately, that's on me, and it's not a little embarrassing that the phrasing reads the way it does. Then again, what's a mea culpa from someone who doesn't know anything about music?
