@slowburn: What kind of funk do you guys
listen to? These are ska / Paul Simon-influenced pop songs. Talking
Heads don’t even enter the equation, nor does actual, down-and-dirty
funk. To knock them for not being funky is like knocking Skinny Puppy
for not being chart-worthy.

There's a lot of that out there. Doesn't mean we should support it.

So you take everything that makes Wes Anderson insufferable, then you add it to Talking Heads and "Graceland" by Paul Simon. Still with me? Good.

Now, remove ALL of the actual funk and most of the wit from the Talking Heads part of the mixture.

Cool, now let's bleach out the soul, lyrical brilliance, and melodic chops we had from "Graceland" and start blogging about it.
