Hold on to your Hypercolor jam shorts: Despite a redesigned Web site and a People item touting their impending comeback, that story about the New Kids On The Block getting back together may not be true, according to a MySpace bulletin from Danny Wood:
Hello to everyone. Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the New Year. I wanted to address the rumors of the NKOTB Reunion Tour. There has been no talk of this and you are getting it from source directly. Never say never, and you can’t believe everything you read. On another note my solo record will be released in Australia in March. There are a few new songs on it and I hope you guys will check it out. Thank you so much for your continued support. Dwood
According to a Dlisted reader, the announcement that the band is making next month involves a reality show looking for a “new” NKOTB–much like the Menudo show that aired on MTV last year. Because surely, the kids will love to buy records by a band with the same name as their mothers’ favorite group from their teenage years. And the worst part? If the nu-NKOTB show somehow doesn’t flop, we’re going to be confronted with Hey, Hey! The Search For The New New Monkees sometime around the spring of 2009.
NKOTB reunion not happening? [Dlisted]

@Jasonbob7: [en.wikipedia.org]’s
This can only be a good thing.
his solo record will have “a few” new songs on it?
Jeez Idolator, you totally killed my buzz.
The 8 year old in me is laughing that he signed his post “Dwood”.
I would like to go on record saying that I still find Jordan Knight extremely hot. That is all.
@katesilver: Don’t worry, Dwood says never say never!
@dog door: What are his old songs?
Surely, he can’t mean his NKOTB catalog. Does he mean that one verse in “Step By Step?” I wasn’t a NKOTB fan, but that’s the only time I ever remember him being featured in a song.
Tito Jackson is to The Jackson 5 as Danny Wood is to NKOTB.
@Jon Can Dance: Probably better than what my friends and I used to call him - “Monkeyboy”!
@katieee: Yep - still hot, and still has a great voice. His CD, “Love Songs”, is a total guilty pleasure of mine.
Jeez Idolator, you sure are quick to jump the gun on unconfirmed news items. Last week it was Diddy’s name-change and “Party All the Time” sample. Today it’s the NKOTB reunion. Both had to be retracted within hours. What’s next? I expect tomorrow morning’s headline to read “Jimi Hendrix’s Reanimated Corpse Spotted On Broadway”, only to see a 2pm update saying it was just a bum with a ‘fro and a Guitar Hero Controller.
He’s releasing his album in AUSTRALIA?? Hahahhaah….
