velocitygirllll.jpgThis Velocity Girl set from 1996 is light on the Copacetic-era material, but it does include “Audrey’s Eyes,” which has one of my favorite guitar-counterpoint lines of all time, and “Drug Girls” from the not as good as its predecessor but still underrated ¡Simpatico!. One of those albums I’ll never get rid of. Shame about ¡Simpatico!. I don’t know if I listened to that one more than 5 times.

If they were playing with Fuzzy, I’m 90 percent sure this would have been spring 1996.

I hated Simpatico when I first heard but it slowly grew on me, so much so that I think I prefer it over Copacetic.

I remember the last time I saw them they covered ‘Bring On The Dancing Horses’ and ‘Your Silent Face.’

Saw them open for Sugar, I was definitely glad I showed up on time.

Copacetic could be great if the production weren’t so lousy. I prefer Simpatico. Actually, Gilded Stars and Zealous Hearts is pretty good too.
