quiiiiii.jpgQui’s David Yow was hospitalized after a show last week, and as it turns out he wasn’t the only member of his band in need of medical treatment; guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk is also in the hospital after suffering three strokes and is being diagnosed with an “inflamed, infected, and strained heart.” The band’s third member, Paul Christiansen, is having a karaoke benefit in Los Angeles on Friday night to help with his bandmates’ hospital bills. While I love Yow- the Qui album is really rather weak.

A little light reminder trivia for those who are like “who the eff is David Yow?” David Yow, before joining Qui, was a founding member of Scratch Acid and The Jesus Lizard. According to a comment on Matt’s MySpace page, he’s “out of the LOUD hospital”. Get well soon, David and Matt.

If Yow could survive being in Scratch Acid and Jesus Lizard - two of the drunkest bands with two of the wildest live shows - he’ll pull through here as well.

Holy Lord God… collapsed lungs, infected hearts, strokes? What the hell were they doing in the van in between shows?

Is that album a 2008 release? If so, the cover should really be in this year’s tournament.

@MrStarhead: My guess is a lot of substance(s).
