Einsturzende Neubauten Dismantle Dancefloor Egos

Though some may not necessarily appreciate being hectored in German for six minutes by Willem Defoe hiding under Bono’s mid-’80s shag ‘do, this sparsely funky live performance of “Yu-Gung” by mechanical men Einsturzende Neubauten does make me hope that the next step in dance-rock retro involves indie kids getting on the good foot by hammering away at bed frames and sheet metal. Next thing you know I’m gonna be searching out Digital Hardcore videos to continue the stern Teuton party. A slippery slope! [YouTube]

Oh yes I remember selling my grandkids on the days when we listened to good, wholesome music like Atari Teenage Riot and Bomb 20 and not this filth that they call music now. (me in 50 years)

@Jfrankparnell: Damn straight! They’re still incredible live after all these years. It’s truly amazing to see how smoothly they can go betweenn pretty and delicate and totally ferocious.
