The Rachael Ray SXSW Party: 30-Minute Sets, Yummo Drinks

rachaellllll.jpgApparently that Rachael Ray SXSW party that we thought was a joke is the real deal. Sadly, Battles will not be playing because they’re not making the SXSW trek, but according to the proprietor of Largehearted Boy the Ettes sent out a press release confirming their appearance today. Also, Holy Fuck has been approached. How the Food Network is going to cutely sanitize that band’s name, I have no idea. Holy Yummo? Holy E.V.O.O.? Holy All This Speculation About Rachael’s Marriage Is Getting To Her So She’s Listening To Lots Of Really Loud Stuff These Days? [Pitchfork]

Paris Hilton at Coachella, Rachael Ray at SXSW, how cliche. That sound you hear is indie credibility deflating from the festivals that are becoming parodies of themselves.

Maybe Rachael can do her talk show live and ask Holy Fuck to talk about their emotions and favorite colors.

And people in Miami want the Winter Music Conference to be like Coachella. I’ll just stick to the WMC and reruns of Giada’s Weekend Getaways seperately instead.

I wanna see Paula Deen sing with Drive By Truckers.

I was watching the Xmas Iron Chef America w/my girlfriend and about the seventh close-up of Paula Deen mugging my girlfriend cried out, “She’s EVIL!”

@Matos: I’m not sure where you’ve been the last 10 years (at least), but “indie credibility” was a fleeting, rare thing to begin with if it even existed at all.

What I’m saying is: Sadly, there’s only one Fugazi. Your choices are to lighten up, or go insane.

@bnb614: Pfft. Indie credibility sold out years ago. And even then, nobody was buying.

Next she’ll make an album with M. Ward

i do believe SXS has officially jumped the shark, with that info. I’m glad those $500 badges are resulting in some cool things we’re all excited about. Ugh

You know, Duff “Ace of Cakes” Goldman actually plays in a band. Think he’s feeling a little slighted?

    @Empire:
Indie credibility may have sold out long ago, but SXSW didn’t. It wasn’t a music festival per se as much as it was a chance for music industry folks to mingle with artists, check out new acts, allow acts to shop for management, etc, there were seminars, etc.

Now it is the “in” thing to do. Now every blogger sponsors a party and celebs now start to come.

    Rachel Ray is hot.

    That is all.

  13. Falconfire  |   Posted on Feb 4th, 2008

@Paul D: Shes also a bitch. My sister and her girlfriend where at a show where her husbands band was playing and she kept mugging like a celeb and acting like people should respect her because shes Rachael Ray the entire time.

My sister was like “woman, we are here for the music, and your husbands band sucks.”

@Virgil Tracy: How did it jump the shark again? Because Rachael Ray has a day party? Please. SXSW is still the most fun and unique festival around as far as I’m concerned.

It would be amusing if Rachael helped the bands at her party set up by walking around carrying as many guitars, drums, amps, microphones, etc., as she could at one time without dropping them.
