Because he will one day reach not just into our iPods but our very desires, Kanye West has premiered a Kanye-branded Web search engine “powered by Google and Ask,” just in case you were worried he coded it himself between working on his book and prepping for his summer tour. Functionality-wise, it does seem to provide the “same results they presently receive from other top search engines” as promised, but just in case you’re not sure about ditching your current search engine, Kanye’s also offering “swag bucks” which are “points that can be redeemed for prizes like limited edition Kanye West posters, iPhones, MacBooks, instruments, Amazon giftcards and dozens of other high end goods.” To win said “swag bucks” you have to install some sort of a toolbar, which is probably just a way for Kanye to keep track of how often people are searching for “Kanye West.” But frankly as much as I want an iPhone, I don’t need this guy knowing how often I’m looking up stuff like “t.a.T.u. pregnant.” For work purposes. Totally.
