Cher Would Like Las Vegas To Believe In Life After Celine

AP040529010411.jpgThose of you who still despondent that Cher officially retired from performing in 2005 can live again; apparently, she only retired from touring, but playing concerts is still in the cards for her. The headdressed diva will be the latest performer to embark on a long run in Las Vegas, having signed a three-year deal with promoters AEG Live to put on nightly shows in the big city. She’ll be following in Celine Dion’s chest-beating footsteps at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace; the “visually unbelievable” show will feature 14 dancers and four aerialists (!), who I guess will be there for the purposes of leaping over her gigantic hats. Doesn’t this seem inevitable? I actually think it makes more sense than Dion’s show ever did.

Yeah, people are going to eat this up. I’m surprised it took this long for it to happen.

I would so go to this. But I’m gay, so I sorta have to like Cher. It’s required. Seriously, the muscle boys from Chelsea will come in their Raymond Dragon tank tops and hurl your ass into the Hudson River if you don’t.

@extracrispy: Similarly, here in LA, if you don’t proclaim your love for the Almighty One, the Ed Hardy-wearing 40+ queens will grab you by your extensions and throw you off the roof of Akbar in Silverlake….it’s a rough crowd.

IMO, we should all unite in our love of Cher!! Cher and Cher alike, that’s what I always say!!
